Homeopathy is the world’s second leading form of medicine (Chinese medicine ranks #1 and Western medicine ranks #4). Conventional drugs rely on strength to overcome symptoms, which often causes side effects and toxicity. Homeopathy is unique in that it utilizes minute doses of natural ingredients to stimulate the body’s self-healing abilities. Millions of children around the world take homeopathic medicine, as recommended by their health care practitioners.
With most homeopathics, there are usually no side effects; even if one takes the wrong remedy for the wrong condition, it will cause no harm. Unlike herbs, vitamins and other supplements, homeopathic manufacturing in the United States is inspected by the FDA for adherence to the same strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals. The individual ingredients contained in Tummy Calm have been selected for their safety and symptom monographs as listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS). The HPUS is one of the official publications cited in the Federal Food and Drug Laws and it contains hundreds of monographs for homeopathic ingredients.
Because of this drug classification, homeopathic medicine is labeled with clear indications for its therapeutic effects. Homeopathic remedies are designed for symptom relief, safety and promotion of healing and are to be used at the onset of symptoms.
Tummy Calm’s Nine Active Ingredients:
Our nine homeopathic remedies are derived from traditional European formulations. Each remedy is included in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States and has been selected for its gentle effectiveness and safety. According to homeopathic Materia Medica, each of the ingredients in Tummy Calm have the following effects:
Aloe Socotrina (Aloe)
Helps with gas, upset stomach, and cramping prior to stool. Also helps to relieve bloating and pain over the liver region.
Great for easing the symptoms of teething – sore gums, upset stomach from increased saliva production, and irritability. Chamomilla is one of the best and most commonly used remedies for insomnia and restlessness because it is calming and soothing for both the digestive and nervous systems.
Highly effective for easing feelings of tension and discomfort in the stomach from gas and bloating, especially after eating. Long used to move along flatulence, rumbling and gurgling in the abdomen.
Nux Moschata (Nutmeg)
This homeopathic medicine is useful for treating digestive problems, especially those related to flatulence, bloating in the stomach and constipation. In homeopathy, nux moschata is especially useful in treating gastritis or inflammation of the stomach lining.
Passiflora (Passion Flower)
Passiflora is an antispasmodic and has traditionally been used as a calming herb for the treatment of anxiety, nervousness, agitation, and sleep disorders, but is also an effective natural remedy for stomach problems such as indigestion or an upset stomach.
Raphanus Sativus (Radish)
Raphanus Sativus also known as radish is high in fiber and promotes regular excretory patterns for the relief of constipation. Its also known to treat symptoms of colic related to a hard, distended abdomen and excess flatulence or gas.
Sarsaparrila, most notably known for its foaming agent in root beer has been used for many years. Its roots are used as an immune system booster, and for its use in the relief of stomach issues related to gas.
Zingiber Officinale (Ginger)
Ginger is a very strong carminative, meaning that it induces excess gas to leave the body. Too much gas build up can put pressure on delicate organs in the torso. A carminative like ginger forces the gas down and out in a healthy way, and also prevents additional gas from building up again.
Carbo Vegetabilis (Medicinal Vegetable Charcoal) H.U.S.P
Recognized for its ability to eliminate gas and toxins in the body. Gently attracts and traps gas throughout the entire digestive system, providing unmatched relief from bloating, abdominal distention with cramping pains, upset stomach, belching and hiccups. Used effectively for natural digestive relief for over 5,000 years.
Charcoal, or carbon, as it is also called, is one of the most abundant elements on Earth. Carbon is the crucial element for all known life on our planet and the human body is composed of 18% carbon by weight (70% of the body is water). The form of carbon used in homeopathic medicine is Carbo Vegetabilis (Vegetable Charcoal), a pure, naturally-produced, non-carcinogenic vegetable carbon. The carbon that we use has been ground into a fine, black, odorless and tasteless powder. It is tested for utmost purity, and is completely safe for human consumption. It works by a process called adsorption – which means that it has the amazing ability to attract other substances to its surface and hold them there (this is scientifically different from absorption, which means to incorporate or assimilate a substance). On its way through the digestive tract, it collects toxins and contaminants via adsorption. It also adsorbs gases, thus relieving flatulence, bloating and gas pains. It is fully excreted in bowel movements, so it will temporarily darken stools. Vegetable charcoal has no direct action on any organ of the body; it does not enter the bloodstream, nor is it absorbed or metabolized into the body. All of it passes out of the body system naturally and easily, along with the gases and toxins it has collected on its journey. It is without rival as a cleansing agent and in assisting the healing process of the body, as well as preventing intestinal infections. Reference: Journal of the American Medical Association
